Job Purpose

The Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and management of assigned aviation modification and maintenance projects for government and commercial clients. This role requires a proactive leader who ensures projects stay on schedule, within budget, and compliant with FAA and DoD regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in aerospace project management and a strong ability to coordinate cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

+ Project Planning, Execution and Closing: Develop and oversee project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring smooth execution and adherence to aviation standards. Candidate will develop, maintain, and coordinate the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) in Microsoft Project to meet all program objectives.

+ Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the liaison between customers, vendors, and internal teams such as Engineering, Purchasing, Fabrication, Logistics, and Aircraft Maintenance.

+ Risk & Compliance Management: Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations (FAA, EASA, DCMA, etc).

+ Resource Allocation: Work collaboratively with Engineering, Quality, and Technical Operations teams to ensure project milestones are met within schedule and budget. Facilitate communication between departments to track progress and address any delays.

+ Performance & Process Optimization: Track and report project status, address scope changes, and maintain a culture of continuous improvement within the organization. Use Gantt, milestone charts, and earned value to identify critical program areas.

+ Deliverable Management: Manage project deliverables, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and industry standards.

+ Budget Management: Monitor and manage project budgets, tracking expenses, forecasting costs, and implementing cost-control measures to ensure financial objectives are met.

Qualifications & Skills

+ 2+ years of aerospace project management experience, including modification or maintenance projects for fixed-wing and rotary aircraft.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project.

+ Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

+ Highly organized with a detail-oriented mindset and ability to build trust with stakeholders.

+ Familiarity with government contracting and aviation modification processes.

+ Knowledge of inspection, auditing, and performance standards within the aviation sector.

+ Team-oriented mindset with experience supporting cross-functional projects and coordinating with others to keep efforts aligned.

+ Able to track milestones, deadlines, and basic project metrics.

+ Strong written and verbal communication; able to clearly prepare notes, meeting summaries, and program reports.

+ Attentive to identifying potential delays or blockers and escalating them appropriately.

+ A Bachelors degree or equivalent industry experience in aviation program management is required. The preferred degree fields include Finance, Engineering, Business Administration, or Aviation Management.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Experience with government contracts and aviation programs for defense clients.

+ Experience with budget development, scope management, and risk assessment.

+ PMP certification or equivalent aviation project management training (preferred).

+ Be familiar with or have expertise in Microsoft Project Scheduling and Pentagon ERP system.
