Industrial Equipment Mechanic

McHugh Locomotive & Equipment is seeking a skilled and experienced Industrial Equipment Mechanic to join our team at our Fairless Hills, PA shop. The individual in this position will be responsible for working as team member to repair locomotive components according to specifications, ensuring high standards of quality and safety. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong technical skills, good communication skills, and a commitment to excellence. Locomotive specific experience is not required for individuals with a solid foundation of industrial mechanics. Must have your own tools.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Dismantle defective machinery / equipment and install new or repaired parts.

- Visually inspect machinery / equipment for defects such as breakage or excessive wear.

- Collaborate and work closely with other maintenance technicians to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

- Preventative maintenance of equipment.

- Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals.

- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.

- Working with material handling equipment daily.

- Required use of personal protective equipment.

- Required to pass drug/alcohol screening.

**Qualifications:**

- High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or vocational training in welding is preferred.

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial equipment maintenance and repair.

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to industrial shop work.

- Physical ability to perform tasks that require standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
