About the Role

The Engineering Department at AKRF is seeking a Civil Engineer to work in our New York City office. This individual will serve a key function in helping to design commercial, residential, use, and industrial properties, along with large-scale infrastructure projects. The potential candidate will have the opportunity to work in an environment of encouragement and collaboration to help AKRF shape the future of New York.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Assist with the preparation and modification of various engineering documents including, reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates, and design plans for projects using engineering and design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc) and equipment.
  • Use record documents, report, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess site characteristics such as hydrology, topographical and geologic data and their impact on the planning and design of projects.
  • Site/Civil design including site planning, site layout, grading, drainage, utility design, stormwater management, and soil erosion and sediment control.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE).
  • 2-5 years of experience.
  • FE/EIT certification preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with, or willingness to learn and work within, AI-driven tools and environments.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, problem-solving, multitasking, and sound judgment skills.
  • Reliable transportation to access job sites, on occasion, with a valid driver’s license in good standing.
  • Ability to follow direction and work effectively in a collaborative team environment, actively contributing ideas for growth and improvement.
  • Experience with computer aided drafting software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation

Compensation will range from $80k to $90k, and commensurate with experience.
