1st Shift Forklift Operator**

**Job Description**

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team and operate sit-down gas forklifts. This role involves stacking and moving recycling materials and garbage, transporting materials throughout the facility, and emptying full containers. You will also perform general preventative maintenance on forklift equipment. The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings, and all employees contribute to various tasks as needed, creating a dynamic and collaborative atmosphere.

**Responsibilities**

+ Operate sit-down forklifts to move and stack materials.

+ Transport materials throughout the facility and empty full containers.

+ Perform general preventative maintenance on forklift equipment.

+ Assist in various tasks as needed within the facility.

**Essential Skills**

+ 2-5 years of forklift operating experience.

+ Proficiency in material handling and heavy equipment operation.

+ Capability to lift heavy items (50lbs+).

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ 1+ year of experience in operating small equipment.

+ Experience with skid steers, loaders, and pallet jacks.

**Work Environment**

The position operates on a 1st shift schedule from Monday to Friday, with hours varying by location: 4am to end of day in Madison and 7am to 4pm in Watertown. Occasional Saturdays are required, especially following a holiday, and employees are informed in advance. The work environment is dynamic and includes exposure to conditions such as dirt, heat, and noise, given the nature of the recycling materials handled.

**Job Type & Location**

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Watertown, Wisconsin.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
