Job Responsibilities: 30% - Coordinates MUSC capital project scopes of work, programming, design, specification development, and construction activities with outside design professionals, regulatory agencies, contractors, Deans, Department Heads, and other key customers. Identifies design and construction problems and develops solutions in cooperation with designers and customers. 30% - Prepares and directs the preparation of schematic, preliminary, and final drawings and specifications for select building and remodeling projects. 15% - Contract administration. Provide timely accurate responses to contracts, review and approval of invoices, payment applications, contract amendments, and change orders. 15% - Conducts project progress meeting with owners, contractor and inspectors. Provide project meeting reports to management and end users in a timely fashion. 10% - Insures design work is in compliance with applicable building and safety codes and in compliance with State Engineer, MNO, CHE, DHEC, EPA, JCAHO, and other agency requirements. Additional Job Description Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree aligned to construction, building management, engineering, engineering technology, architecture or similar discipline and five years of construction, building management, engineering, engineering technology, architecture or similar discipline work experience, including two years of experience in a technical supervisory capacity. A Master's degree in construction, building management, engineering, engineering technology, architecture or similar discipline and three years of construction, building management, engineering, engineering technology, architecture or similar discipline work experience may be substituted for the required experience. Some positions require registration as a Professional Architect as prescribed by the South Carolina Code Section 40-3-60 or as a Professional Engineer or Associate Professional Engineer as prescribed in South Carolina Code Sections 40-22-190 and 40-22-195.
