A well-established manufacturer is seeking an experienced, proactive Production Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations within a Western Suffolk County facility. This role requires a dynamic leader with a background in wood product manufacturing and a passion for driving team performance, product quality, and continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing principles. The ideal candidate can manage production flow, provide clear direction, and inspire a culture of accountability and excellence.

salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 4 PM
education: High School

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise production teams across multiple departments including CNC machining, panel saw operations, edge banding, assembly, and finishing.

  • Provide daily direction, set clear expectations, and guide team members to meet production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements.

  • Conduct team huddles and one-on-one coaching to reinforce performance objectives and promote accountability.

  • Ensure production schedules are met by coordinating labor, managing workflow, and responding quickly to changing priorities or issues.

  • Foster a collaborative and respectful team environment focused on continuous learning and high standards.

  • Implement and champion Lean Manufacturing practices such as 5S, standard work, and continuous improvement to drive productivity and reduce waste.

  • Monitor product quality through in-process inspections and proactively resolve issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • Collaborate with planning, engineering, and maintenance departments to improve operational flow and minimize downtime.

  • Maintain safe work conditions and enforce compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.

  • Identify training needs and lead cross-training efforts to build a more flexible and capable workforce.
