Maple Sugaring Operation Seeks General Foreman

Position Summary:
We are seeking a hardworking, dependable individual to join our sugaring team. This position involves all aspects of maple production and woods work, including tree tapping, equipment operation, and sap/syrup processing. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, safety-conscious, and willing to work long hours during sugaring season.

Schedule/Expected Hours:
8 hour shift during off season
Weekends as needed during busy season
Nights as needed during busy season
Holidays as needed during busy season
Year round work

Key Responsibilities:
Tap and maintain maple trees for sap collection
Operate chainsaws safely for woods maintenance and line clearing
Operate plow trucks to maintain access to sugar woods in winter
Run heavy machinery as needed for woods work and sugarhouse operations
Operate and maintain reverse osmosis (RO) systems for sap concentration
Operate maple evaporator for syrup production, including startup, monitoring, and shutdown
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the sugarhouse and woods
Perform routine maintenance on equipment and lines
Work long hours, including early mornings, late nights, and weekends during peak sugaring season
Assist with off-season woods projects and general farm maintenance as assigned

Qualifications:
Experience operating chainsaws (safety certification preferred)
Experience operating plow trucks and heavy machinery (excavator, bulldozer, grader, tractors, dump truck)
CDL Class A or B license is a plus
Knowledge of maple syrup production processes, including RO systems and evaporators, is preferred but willing to train the right candidate
Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and work in varying weather conditions
Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
Ability to follow safety protocols and work independently or as part of a team

Compensation:
Competitive hourly wage. Opportunity for overtime during sugaring season.
