About the Opportunity
We have exciting opportunities to join our Electrical team based in Warrington helping our SMR focused clients to deliver the UKs Net Zero targets. We will consider applications from other locations within the UK (Knutsford, Gloucester, Newcastle).
Amentum are looking for adaptable and organised Principal Electrical Engineers to join the team. You will be an integral member of a project based team providing technical expertise to deliver safe and cost effective nuclear power stations in the UK and abroad. Key skill required\:
- Capturing requirements/constraints in line with the project’s processes for management of interfaces and requirements (e.g., requirements captured in IBM DOORS)
- Understanding and translating the high level requirements into a validated design for the electrical system/component
- Validating the electrical designs for by analysing the functional behaviour, which may include modelling and simulation to demonstrate that the design meets the high-level requirements
- Developing and reviewing electrical tests that will provide evidence to demonstrate that the electrical requirements have been satisfied
- Discussing the electrical system design with external organisations including the nuclear safety regulator, potential customers, and suppliers
- Excellent technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Amentum and its clients
- Excellent knowledge of the fundamental requirements of Electrical engineering and the basic requirements of other engineering disciplines
- Experience of working on new build projects and integrating closely with the client’s engineering team to deliver projects
- Good interpersonal skills & confidence to interface with the client
- Excellent knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory specifications
- Adaptability and ability to transfer existing skills onto new problems, ideally from a design background
- Good use of relevant software such as Microsoft Office, ETAP, Aveva 3D and other appropriate engineering specific software
Qualifications
- Hold a relevant engineering Degree/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- Be a Chartered Engineer or working towards CEng / IEng
- Be able to obtain security clearance
