To perform advanced engine, hydraulic and electrical repair on mobile equipment.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:
  • Knowledge of vehicle mechanics and power transmissions as it applies to the vehicles used at this plant.
  • Perform advanced engine, hydraulic and electrical repair on gas, diesel and propane mobile equipment.
  • Rebuild engines, transmissions, etc.
  • Change oil and brake shoes and work on damaged parts.
  • Maintenance Superintendent will set the schedule for the Mobile Equipment Mechanic.
  • Schedule may vary depending on the work load, availability of equipment, and plant needs.
  • Schedule will include some weekend work, and on-call weekends.
  • Employee must be able to provide basic tools necessary for the performance of this job defined by the Maintenance Superintendent.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of engine, hydraulic and electric repair and rebuilding of gas, diesel and propane equipment.
  • Advanced knowledge of maintenance functions.
  • Knowledge of equipment and tools.
  • Time management, prioritizing, and organizational skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and written repair instructions.
  • Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Vocational degree preferred.
  • Previous mobile equipment mechanical experience required.
  • Or, any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
