**Early Career Civil or Environmental Engineer**
POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is seeking a entry-level Civil or Environmental Engineer. Join POWER Engineers, Member of WSP as an Early Career Civil or Environmental Engineer in the Civil, Structural, and Architectural Department of the Power Generation Division. Help us assist multiple types of clients (Independent Power Producers, Municipal Electric Utilities, Investor-Owned Utilities, Contractors, and Developers,) to address their challenges and implement power grid systems of the future. Get experience in a wide range of power plant technologies including biomass, municipal waste, geothermal, hydrogen, fossil fuel, carbon capture, battery energy storage, hydro, and solar. Work for multiple POWER Divisions (Power Generation, Power Delivery, Facilities, and Federal.)
This position will report to the Overland Park, Kansas location (majority of Civil/Site Development Team is located in this office) with the ability to work remotely.
**Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities**
+ Develop site layout, grading, storm water management, vehicular circulation, underground utilities, retaining walls, erosion control, and wastewater management design
+ Earthwork and Erosion Control Calculations to avoid unnecessary environmental impact and cost
+ Hydrology and Hydraulic Calculations and Studies to design stormwater management systems including detention and infiltration systems to prevent environmental impacts of flooding.
+ Interface with State and Local permitting agencies and construction entities for US and international projects
**Required Education/Experience**
+ BSCE (Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering)degree from an ABET accredited university
+ Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification or capability to achieve within two years.
+ New graduate to three (3) years of experience in engineering
+ The candidate must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel
+ Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite
+ Candidate islegally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship
**Desired Education/Experience**
+ Consulting Engineering experience
+ Site development design experience: municipal infrastructure, storm drainage and stormwater management design, site grading, roadway and utility design, sanitary sewer design and analysis, construction specification development and development of construction bid packages
+ Professional Engineer License
+ Working knowledge of Autodesk Civil3D
