**What is the job about?**
As a Project Manager/Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and engineering all orders defined as light engineered project business for Peerless Pump. You will review the order contracts and manage the submittal, engineering and documentation process required. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for all customer inquiries during the order execution time. You will have ultimate responsibility for establishing methods of execution including sourcing for assigned orders and for driving all order execution requirements to established deadlines.
This position reports directly to our Project Manager/Engineer Lead, and will operate out of the Indianapolis, IN facility in a hybrid function.
Please note that relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have the authorization to work in the USA without support.
**Your main responsibilities** :
+ Conduct contract review to verify committed scope of supply including performance guarantees, documentation, calculations, and testing.
+ Conduct handover meeting with sales and applications to address open issues.
+ Provide feedback to Sales and Applications of all oversights involving equipment scope and commercial liabilities (Warranty, payment terms, delivery, cancellation, etc.).
+ Produce customer specific drawings and documentation from customer specifications, drawings, purchase order and order write up.
+ Manage and compile submittal package including drawings, equipment information, production schedule, inspection and test plan, customer documentation lists, progress reports, etc.
+ Maintain all project documentation in standardized binder formats and electronic project folders.
+ Initiate and execute the process of material pre-orders as necessary to meet committed delivery schedules
+ Responsible for initiating and executing obtaining a quotation, ordering and release of major buyouts (i.e.: motors, controllers, engines, etc.).
+ Build production package for delivery to manufacturing including product-specific manufacturing and test instructions.
+ Establish the required production schedule to meet equipment delivery commitments and follow up each phase of production.
+ Work with purchasing and production to adjust as required keeping the project production schedule on target.
+ Work in conjunction with sales to maintain frequent contact with the customer as required.
+ Prepare commercial instructions, packing lists, checklists and progress payment notices as required.
**Your background**
We imagine that you have:
+ A four-year technical or engineering degree, or equivalent experience in design, applications, or contract management role.
+ Three years of experience with technical applications within the industry (construction, mechanical, automotive, aerospace, etc.) preferred.
+ Good communication skills, both oral and written, are a must.
+ Skilled with Microsoft Office tools (i.e. Excel, Word, Access, Power Point, Projects, etc.).
+ Having an advanced understanding of pump principles, pump construction, hydraulics, rotating equipment, divers, controls, and application of products is a plus.
+ Working knowledge of Catia, AutoCAD and/or SAP MM, SD and PS is a plus.
+ A strong work ethic with a positive attitude, and the ability to develop a positive relationship with our customers, sales, production, procurement, quality, and all other internal teams.
+ The ability to operate out of the Indianapolis, Indiana facility in a hybrid function attending the office at least 3 days per week.
+ A willingness to travel up to 10% if necessary, mostly for meetings with customers and field sites. As a result, candidates should be able to maintain valid identification.
