Solar Installer $20 - $25 an hour Job Description The Solar Installer will be responsible for the complete installation of photovoltaic systems from start to finish. This includes coordinating with customers and supervisors, installing all photovoltaic system components and electrical equipment, completing system documentation and procedures, and ensuring the successful operation of the entire photovoltaic system. Additionally, the installer will communicate and update project status to the operations management staff proficiently. Responsibilities Organize crews and resources to complete projects within established policies and procedures. Complete projects within strict timeframes and allowed budgets. Assemble the solar array racking, properly seal all roof penetrations, and install all relative equipment. Provide operations and maintenance functions. Ensure all materials are in hand before scheduled work. Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions and operational issues. Fully commission projects, including setup of online monitoring accounts. Maintain high levels of quality assurance and quality control with an emphasis on safety. Communicate with customers professionally, addressing all questions and concerns. Perform equipment maintenance and ensure shop, truck, and trailer organization and cleanliness. Engage in general construction work using hand tools, measuring, leveling, and assembling. Carry out other duties as assigned. Essential Skills 1 year of construction experience. Ability to use hand and power tools. Able to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment weighing approximately 50 pounds frequently. Knowledge of solar installation and solar panels. Electrical skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED. Must possess own tools and power tools. General construction knowledge, including roofing, electrical, and carpentry skills. Experience with ladders and scaffolding. Flexibility to work overtime, travel to job sites, and stay overnight as required. Professional appearance and excellent customer service skills. Attention to detail. Preferred experience with heavy equipment such as material handlers, loaders, forklifts, excavators, trenchers, and boring machines. Valid Driver's License and clean driving record. Ability to innovate, improve operations, and solve complex problems. Team-oriented with high integrity and enthusiasm.
