Overview:Novant Health is seeking a skilled Painter II to join our Facilities Management team at Forsyth Medical Center. This full-time position supports the upkeep and aesthetic maintenance of our healthcare environment, ensuring a safe, clean, and visually appealing facility for patients, staff, and visitors.
Qualifications:Education:
High School Diploma or GED, required.
Experience:
Four years of experience in painting, patching, installation of wall coverings, ceiling tiles, wall protective materials, rubber base, and some flooring covering, required.
Two years of hospital painting experience, preferred.
Additional Skills Required:
Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
Ability to apply customer satisfaction standards effectively.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Proficient in the use of a variety of hand and power tools related to the trade.
Ability to skillfully use trade-related tools and equipment.
Ability to plan and lay out work, including estimating labor and material costs.
Strong color discrimination and the ability to identify the nature of objects.
Ability to perform and learn a wide range of general maintenance and repair work not requiring full journeyman skill.
Ability to interact professionally with individuals of diverse cultures and authority levels.
Proficient with personal computers and handheld tablet devices for communication, work order management, and reporting.
Ability to drive and travel to multiple locations/facilities as needed.
Additional Skills Preferred:
Understanding of healthcare facility infection prevention requirements as they relate to maintenance activities.

ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities:
Perform various aesthetic maintenance duties including painting, patching, and the installation of wall protection, wall covering, cove base, corner guards, floor covering, and ceiling tile.
Coordinate paint orders for the facilities served, ensuring materials are available and work is completed efficiently.
Assist the supervisor in scheduling painting and carpentry tasks to optimize workflow and resource use.
Maintain compliance with safety and infection control standards specific to healthcare facilities.
Keep work areas clean and organized and accurately document completed tasks.
