Position Description

Reporting to the Finish End Frontline Supervisor, this role requires mechanical aptitude, precision, and adherence to safety protocols.

This position is on site based at our Mercer Conway, Inc. facility, located at 1800 Sturgis Rd - Conway, AR 72032.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Work as a member of a team with other operators.
  • Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner.
  • Interpret shop drawings and transfer drawing information to product.
  • Check and correct information on blueprints.
  • Measure, cut, and shape wood using hand and power tools.
  • Inspect and repair damaged product.
  • Maintain a clean workspace.
  • Interface with the Framing Supervisor/Lead to solve problems.
  • Interface with the Shift Lead Hand to maximize production flow.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience as a Framing Carpenter.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ability to function effectively with both SAE and Metric measurements.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Physical stamina and strength to lift and carry heavy materials.
  • Sufficient written and verbal communication skills to keep records up to date, and communicate effectively with other operators.
