Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. This role involves designing heating, ventilation, and cooling systems, as well as plumbing systems, for a range of projects. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective design of various mechanical systems, coordinating with other disciplines, and ensuring compliance with construction documents.

Responsibilities

  • Design heating-ventilation-cooling systems and plumbing systems.
  • Perform load calculations, life cycle costing, and energy modeling.
  • Design refrigeration systems for industrial and commercial buildings.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Review installation of designed equipment/systems for compliance with construction documents.
  • Manage multiple projects within established schedules.
  • Work on a variety of project types, scales, and complexities.
  • Prepare construction cost estimates, both broad and detailed.
  • Assist in developing contract specifications and researching new procedures/products.
  • Perform all work safely and responsibly, following the Health and Safety Plan.
  • Act as a positive representative of the company and its core values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelors or Masters in Architectural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficient in Revit.
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Engineer Intern (EI) Certification.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and client relationship skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong work ethic and solid organizational skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to work effectively on a wide variety of project types and scales.
  • Experience in preparing construction cost estimates.
  • Research skills for new procedures and products.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
