CDL Operator / Laborer - Chadbourn, NC

• J. Corman is currently seeking a CDL-B Operator / Laborer at its Carolina Line based out of Chadbourn, NC. This candidate will operate commercial vehicles such as dump trucks, grapple trucks, etc. in a safe manner in support of inspection, installation, and maintenance of railroad track.

This position requires some travel.

Responsibilities:

• Operate Specialized equipment. (i.e. Backhoe, Crew Truck, Prentice Truck etc.)
• Performs preventative maintenance on heavy or specialized equipment.
• Maintains proper equipment appearance and cleanliness.
• May perform labor duties as needed.
• Communicates with supervisor throughout the job process.
• Ensures working conditions are safe and that proper PPE is being used as job duties require.
• Follow DOT regulations; ensuring proper permits and driving regulations are followed.

Requirements: CDL-B is REQUIRED; CLD-A PREFERRED

Physical Requirements:

• Able to perform physical strenuous work
• Able to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch
• Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50lbs
• Requires occasional use of 30lb claw bar to remove spikes, requiring application of 50lbs of force
• Requires occasional use of 10lb sledge hammer to drive spikes, requiring application of 75lbs of force
• Able to walk, climb, and maintain balance on equipment, stairs, ladders, uneven terrain, rails and ballast in a safe manner
• Able to navigate into confined spaces if necessary
