Position/Department Summary:
Manages and coordinates planning, budgeting, scheduling, design, bidding, construction furnishings, and relocation requirements of new construction and renovation projects. Assures compliance with all Federal, State, and local building codes and hospital life safety requirements. Oversee and manage junior project management staff as needed to complete large-scale projects. Coordinates construction activities with end users and keeps hospital leadership abreast of capital project status.

Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and managing hospital construction and renovation projects in a range of up to $4000M+.
- Overseeing and working with architects, engineering consultants, and vendors on planning, design, and implementation, ensuring conformance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Serving as Project Manager for designated projects and oversees contractors, supervising all aspects of the project, including reviewing and monitoring costs against budget and establishing and maintaining completion schedules.
- Preparing cost estimates, schedules, correspondence, contracts, and purchase requisitions for assigned projects.
- Maintaining all project documentation, including but not limited to correspondence, bids, proposals, contracts, permits, agreements, change orders, purchase orders, inspection reports, and punch list.
- Monitoring drawings, RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings, to ensure contractor product submissions are on schedule, Architect/Engineer reviews are timely and complete, and appropriate hospital departments have reviewed and acknowledged product submissions.
- Coordinating/monitoring construction progress daily. Inspects and coordinates construction, commissioning, telecom, security, data processing, furniture, moving requirements, signage, art, and landscaping.
- Coordinating with architects and engineers, contractors and hospital departments, the purchasing and installation of hospital supplies and material i.e., furniture, equipment for design and construction. Coordinating with all Operations groups within the hospital.
- Ensuring and reviewing projects close-out materials, including but not limited to, As-Built drawings, maintenance manuals, and Certificate of Occupancy. Ensures all punch list items are completed, lien waivers are submitted, and final payments are completed.
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards. Maintains compliance documentation in accordance with department policy and procedure.
- Providing Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) manager project information for their database.
- Assisting in the planning and implementing major infrastructure and maintenance of Hospital facilities and systems.
- Participating in resolving sensitive regulatory and code compliance issues. Responding to complaints and concerns from departments affected by construction.
- May maintain a directory of past and prospective Hospital Contractors, identifying and recommending firms for consideration on contract bids. Notifies contractors of Hospital Safety, Security, Sanitation, and noise standards and ensures compliance.
- Training and orienting staff on Hospital and departmental policies and procedures, job duties, and standards; including systems, equipment, and materials. Monitors employee work performance, providing feedback, and initiating disciplinary action when necessary.
- Providing all necessary information and presentations for Senior Management approvals, such as Finance, Real Estate Strategy committee, and others as needed.
- Provide leadership, oversight, and mentorship to junior project managers, promoting professional development and project delivery excellence.
- Bachelors degree in engineering or a closely related field required.
- Masters Degree preferred.
- 10-15 years of relatable experience
