Shop Electrician**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled Shop Technician who is comfortable testing transformers with low to medium voltage ranging from 35-45k volts. This role requires expertise in performing repairs, upgrades, and overhauls of Low and Medium Voltage Circuit Breakers both in a shop environment and on-site. You will also be responsible for providing maintenance and testing of power distribution equipment. Demonstrated mechanical and electrical abilities with hand and power tools are essential.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform repairs, upgrades, and overhauls of Low and Medium Voltage Circuit Breakers in a shop environment and on-site.
+ Provide on-site maintenance and testing of electrical power distribution equipment at customer facilities throughout the Acadiana, LA area.
+ Lead and train other team members in the absence of a Shop Foreman or Service Manager.
+ Participate in on-call rotations as required.
**Essential Skills**
+ Demonstrated mechanical and electrical abilities with hand and power tools.
+ Experience in electrical troubleshooting and electrical service.
+ Understanding and repair of mechanical, electrical, and diesel equipment, generators, HVAC, and air compressors.
+ Experience with VFDs, VSDs, soft starts, and 'across the line' motor starting.
+ Understanding of refrigeration with EPA certification.
+ Operation of dehumidification equipment from CDI and Munters.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Journeyman license is advantageous.
+ Previous experience in an industrial or construction environment is preferred.
+ OSHA 10 certification is a plus.
+ High School Diploma required; a technical degree or certificate is a plus.
+ Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.

The role is primarily based in a shop environment in Broussard, LA. The position involves working with various equipment including generators, electrical systems, and HVAC for power repair. The work schedule may include on-call rotations and occasional travel for site support. The dress code is focused on safety and practicality, appropriate for a hands-on technical role.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
