Maintenance Supervisor - Manufactuing

Shift: 1st, 6:30am - 3:00pm M-F, Saturdays as needed

Pay: $80,000 year

What to expect:

The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for leading and coordinating the daily activities of the Maintenance Department. This hands-on role is expected to actively monitor and react to the departments daily workload to satisfy customer requirements and maximize operating efficiencies while maintaining a safe working environment. The role is expected to be actively involved in any continual process improvements of the facility.

  • Evaluates performance of department employees, recommends, and initiates disciplinary actions and pay increases as warranted.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs production equipment, material handling equipment and facility mechanical systems.
  • Works with single and three-phase electrical 480/220.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Involved in training new hires or new departmental transfers.
  • Evaluates employee performance and conduct performance reviews.
  • May work overtime, alternate shifts, and weekends as needed on short notice.
  • Actively involved in any continual process improvements of the department.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 Years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent which may include vocational training.
  • Must be familiar with PM programs and be able to facilitate and monitor the program.
  • Ability to functionally use a personal computer to perform detailed inquiries, update information, source information, source items and print reports as needed.
  • Capability to communicate efficiently with all levels of employees and management, both verbally and in written form.
  • Capacity to multi-task with speed and accuracy while prioritizing tasks and ability to maintain excellent organizational skills to effectively troubleshoot and problem-solve.
  • Demonstratable ability to read engineering style drawings, diagrams, and sketches.
  • Basic welding skills.
  • Use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and company approved tools while remaining aware of hazards and maintaining a safe work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a maintenance function in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
  • Experienced in the use of basic tools required to perform maintenance tasks.
  • Operation of forklifts, man lifts and other powered industrial equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and Underwriter's Laboratories (UL).
  • Ability to obtain and keep a Powered Industrial Truck license.

  • Able to withstand exposure to seasonal weather elements and wood dust.
  • 100%: Stand, handle or feel, squeeze or grasp.
  • 80%: Reaching with hands and arms, depth perception.
  • 50%: Walk, repetitive motion, operate moving equipment.
  • 10%: Working bent at waist, climbing, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, bending or twisting.
  • Lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
  • Lift, push or pull 75-100 lbs. with assistance.
  • Ability to climb ladders (up to 15').

Occasional travel may be required.
