Position Overview:
Become a member of the Perimeter Solutions fabrication and welding team with the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of equipment manufacturing from specialized firefighting equipment to pressure vessels. Perimeter Solutions uses a wide range of welding styles including multiple processes with Aluminum and Steel.
Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Interpret and analyze blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine project specifications and requirements.
- Set up and operate various welding machines and equipment, including MIG, TIG, and arc welding.
- Fabricate metal components, including cutting, shaping, and assembling materials to create finished products.
- Perform welding tasks with precision and adhere to safety protocols, ensuring a high level of quality and craftsmanship.
- Inspect finished welds for structural integrity and adherence to project specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Maintain tools and equipment to ensure they are in proper working condition and perform routine preventative maintenance as needed.
- Follow all safety rules, regulations, and practices to ensure a safe working environment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to team efforts to enhance production efficiency.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in welding and fabrication
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a welding program or apprenticeship
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality workmanship.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid welder certification (e.g., AWS, ASME) is a plus.
- Familiarity with safety standards and procedures required in a welding environment.
Physical/Mental Demands and Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use both hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally worksnear moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed non-toxic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
- The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to airborne particles and heat.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
- The employee is occasionally required to climb ladders and stairs.
