Industrial Electrician Job Description As an Industrial Electrician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems throughout the production facility. Your expertise in reading ladder logic and troubleshooting PLCs is essential, alongside your ability to program drives, wire three-phase motors, and perform both low and high voltage troubleshooting from 24v to 480v. Additionally, you may be required to perform dual craft maintenance duties including hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, and valves, or any other necessary maintenance tasks. Training on ammonia systems will be provided. Responsibilities Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment. Troubleshoot machinery and perform routine preventative maintenance. Read, interpret, and follow instructions and operation manuals. Demonstrate electrical competency for troubleshooting and understanding electrical principles and components. Weld and fabricate parts and equipment. Use an electrical meter for testing purposes. Maintain a schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery. Have knowledge of piping systems, pipe fittings, pumps, motors, valves, etc. Understand gearboxes, motors, bearings, sprockets, chains, bushings, belts, and pulleys. Clean, repair, and install equipment and parts as needed. Operate sit-down forklifts and/or articulating boom lifts. Operate a variety of hand and power tools. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Comply with health and safety regulations. Perform general maintenance work on buildings as assigned. Maintain strong working relationships with all plant departments. Write routine reports and correspondence. Essential Skills Five years of experience as an Industrial Electrician, PLC Technician, or similar role. Experience in troubleshooting PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and programming VFDs. Ability to read schematics and blueprints. Knowledge of conveyor maintenance, 3-phase motor systems, and pump and valve repair. Electrical maintenance and troubleshooting skills. Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and strong computer skills. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Knowledge of health and safety regulations. Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. and push, pull, or move heavy machinery and/or drums. Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift. Additional Skills & Qualifications Trade school certificate or journeyman card preferred. Preferred work experience in a food manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate hand and power tools. Physical dexterity and ability to perform physical tasks. Why Work Here?
