We are seeking a motivated and dedicated mechanical engineer to help develop a platform for the next-generation of silicon photonics based artificial intelligence accelerators and interconnect products alongside a team of world-class scientists and engineers.
Responsibilities
Design, test, analyze, integrate, qualify and document hardware of moderate to high complexity
Ensure proper packaging of systems to obtain optimal thermal and structural design
Lead mechanical design approaches and packaging techniques for the Systems organization
Contribute to hardware engineering requirements capture and analysis in area of domain expertise
Participate in compliance testing with Nationally Recognized Test Labs in ensuring product meets all EMI/EMC and safety standards required
Oversee and conduct root-cause-analysis and technical investigations for Systems thermal and mechanical designs
Be point of contact with outside fabricators to ensure correct build-to-print and quality workmanship
Participate in cross-functional team efforts in integration, pre-qualification and qualification for products and sub-systems of moderate to high complexity
Provide assistance to creating technical road-maps, establishing best practices, and determining product feasibility
Requirements
5+ years of experience in system mechanical design with multiple successful product releases
Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering (or other related fields)
Proficient in a 3D CAD solid modeling software package
Familiar with both thermal and structural testing and analysis
Experience with state-of-the-art mechanical engineering design and analysis tools
Possess a strong understanding in the application of heat transfer principles, strength of materials, materials selection, design for vibration environments and the ability to apply those principles to unique mechanical design challenges.
Experience with electronics packaging
Preferred Qualifications
Familiar with 3D printing equipment and processes
Proficient with FEA software package (ANSYS, SolidWorks)
Proficient with thermal simulation and analysis software package (IcePak, Flotherm)
We offer competitive compensation. The base salary range for this role determined based on location, experience, educational background, and market data.
Salary Range
$124,000 - $180,000 USD
