This is a hybrid role, based out of the Nieto-Jones Performance Center in Schaumburg, IL. #LI-Hybrid - Monday and Friday are remote, Tuesday through Thursday are in-office collaboration days. As an Electrical Engineer I, you will: Evaluate and integrate industry standard technologies including LCD/LED displays, resistive, SCAP, PCAP touch technologies and electro-mechanical switches. Perform electrical circuit design and schematic entry within electrical engineering design team and support printed circuit board development throughout new product development process. Implement design changes and Engineering Change Orders per engineering standards. Perform worst-case/tolerance analysis, power dissipation, and stress-analysis on electrical circuits. Support Engineering Field Service organization: Direct/guide troubleshooting efforts in the field; Participate via conference call with service techs to address field issues and determine root-cause. Participate as a member of cross-functional design team(s). Collaborate within the electrical engineering teams on engineering documentation. Evaluate and test critical electronics components of schematic designs through simulation software and bench level testing prior to schematic release. Perform and document detailed PCBA level validation tests using lab tools such as oscilloscopes, meters and loads. Work with engineering technicians on compliance, validation and reliability testing. What Life Fitness / Hammer Strength is looking for in our Electrical Engineer I: B.S. Electrical Engineering from an accredited 4 year institution is required. Emphasis in digital and/or analog electronics is preferred. Prior experience as engineering intern or co-op student is preferred. Experience programming embedded systems a plus. Ability to read and analyze electrical/electronic circuits/schematics is required. Prior experience using engineering tools is required. e.g. oscilloscopes, multi-meters, analyzers, power supplies etc. is preferred. Prior knowledge of schematic design tools is preferred with an emphasis on Altium Designer is a plus. Experience with basic 2D drafting using AutoCAD or similar is a plus. Ability to learn and adapt to new tools, software applications is a requirement. The salary range for this position, intended for U.S. applicants, is $68,600 - $97,600 annually.The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities. The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of Schaumburg, IL 60173 and the actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.
