Job purpose
Provides for Senior Structural Engineering expertise, as well as mentoring and supervising assistance for CDE/8-koi; a diverse Florida based company that has been providing outstanding engineering and design services to clients in Federal, State and Local government sector with emphasis on military and space program support services, as well as meeting the needs of commercial and residential clients for over 13-years. Focus of efforts revolve around CDE's structural projects consisting primarily with roof and/or structural component rehabilitation of existing facilities, new facilities, and/or additions to existing buildings/facilities/campuses. Coordinates with CDE/8-koi MEP Departments and/or other Site/Civil/AE Firms as required.
Duties and responsibilities
Technical Responsibilities (80% of Positional weight of effort)
Collects data and gathers information or documents.
Performs standard computations or analysis with Department staff.
Prepares drawings and visual aids.
Observes construction activities.
Performs basic survey work.
Performs basic design tasks.
Assists on other tasks such as: preparation of permit applications, material testing, drawings, and CAD work.
Performs moderate design tasks.
Prepares portions of project documents.
Creates, edits, reviews, and approves technical specifications.
Performs research and investigations.
Serves as the technical specialist for the organization in the application of advanced concepts, principles, and methods in an assigned area.
Keeps informed of new developments and requirements affecting the organization for recommending changes in programs or applications.
Interprets, organizes, executes, and coordinates assignments for engineering staff.
Assists in the development of standards and guidelines.
Reviews complete project documents for Scope of Work (SOW) conformity, quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC).
Serves as the technical specialist for the organization in the application of advanced concepts, principles, and methods in an assigned area.

Qualifications
Must be eligible to work in the US.
8+ years related experience primarily focused on:structural work on roof and/or structural component rehabilitation of existing facilities, or new additions to existing buildings/facilities (Required)
Knowledge and experience in Structural Forensics capabilities (Desired)
Minimum of Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
Possess a current Professional Engineer License- IL, FL preferred
Possess a valid Driver's License and a reliable mode of transportation.
Pass an entry drug screen and remain drug free throughout employment.
Possess a strong work ethic and team player mentality.
Exceptional multitasking abilities and flexibility.
Ability to read and interpret complex documents such as regulations and contract requirements.
Ability to communicate effectively, both written and spoken.
