The Project Engineer (PE) supports the PM and the field Superintendent(s) in the successful completion of their current project(s) by taking responsibility for daily assignments which include:
Soliciting, tracking and distributing incoming Subcontractor shop drawings and submittals as well as coordinating the approvals of such documents, in a timely manner, and their distribution back to the appropriate vendor through Procore. Managing hard and soft copes, and making sure Submittals are filed, stamped, and organized in Procore, and easily accessible by Superintendent.
Understand critical issues in regards to master and millstone schedule, and prevent delays with Superintendent with focus on problem solving for hot issues that impact project schedule and Superintendent look ahead schedule and milestone schedule. Assist Superintendent in communication with third party architects / engineer's, subcontractor's field / office, and assist Superintendent in receiving critical information to maintain look ahead schedule. Assist Superintendent in the field on all relevant issues so that information flows seamlessly as required to build the project in a timely manner from source to Super and Field Personnel. PE is to make sure information and communication flow is uninterrupted with quick and focused responses. Track hot issues, and elevate issues to upper management or ownership, if critical information is not received that may cause delay on the project.
Material Tracking of all jobsite materials subcontractor procured or GP procured. Meet with Superintendent, and understand milestone delivery dates of materials, and track all submittal approvals, lead time for shipping, and delivery dates meet milestone schedule that ties into master schedule. Assist in making sure all materials are delivered in a timely manner to the jobsite in time for installation.
Distributing and tracking all drawings and specifications to all project subcontractors through Procore, and contract sets and uploading latest and great plans, with bulletins through Procore. Sending Bulletins and Design Addenda to subcontractors and field team with formal transmittals issued and tracked in Procore. Managing hard and soft copies in the field and saving drawing sets in Procore.
Working with the PM and Superintendent to generate the master project schedule, and assisting Superintendent in posting Three Week Look ahead in Procore and making sure Master Schedule and Three Week Look Ahead schedule is distributed to all subs and communicated weekly in Subcontractor meetings. Track meeting minutes in subcontractor meetings with critical coordination items documented and sent to Foreman for completion.
Assisting in the preparation of RFIs with the PM and the Superintendent and Subcontractors, and distributing responses to Subcontractors and Field Team in a timely manner Thru Procore. Note, change issue if relates to cost or schedule and communicate changes to other team members ie Project Manager and Superintendent. Create said Change Issue in Procore as required.
Assisting in the preparation of RFPs of Change Issues, with the PM and the subcontractor(s) through Procore. Will be tracking and coordinating the RFPs for the PM and updating the PM of pending cost related issues and any impact to the project schedule.
Assisting in the preparation of Jobsite Meeting Minutes for OAC meetings with Project Manager.
Supporting the estimating team by soliciting, tracking and distributing incoming Subcontractor bids and proposals when bidding new projects..
Assists estimating in analyzing the project job cost. During the bidding phase the PE assists in soliciting and evaluating subcontractor bids.
Coordinates and provides project closeout documentation, as-built drawings, Operation and Maintenance Manuals to customers as directed by PM
The PE reports to the PM, but also assist and works hand in hand with the Superintendent extensively in regards to receiving critical information for schedule.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree or experience in a related field required.
Experience: 5 plus years of management experience; healthcare or related business knowledge preferred, broad understanding of construction industry, strong team player, strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
