Atlas Machine & Supply, Inc. is looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join our Core Machine Shop Engineering team. In this role, you'll work closely with Machine Shop Project Engineers to reverse engineer components, develop 3D models, and produce detailed manufacturing drawings. Additional responsibilities may include new product design and development, fixture design, and supporting the creation and implementation of inspection procedures.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create and update manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.

Collaborate with project engineers and shop foremen to manage timelines, revisions, and project requirements.

Support reverse engineering efforts using laser trackers, scanners, and manual measurement tools.

Expand knowledge in machine design, manufacturing methods, and material analysis.

Manage design projects and assist with select core customer projects.

Perform other duties as needed.

DESIRED PROGRAM AND TOOL FAMILIARITY:

SolidWorks, preferred, 3D modeling required

Microsoft Office suite, required

Metrology Equipment (e.g., laser tracker or scanner)

Material analysis tools and techniques

Manual Measurement Tools (Micrometers, Calipers)

REQUIREMENTS:

A degree in engineering or a related technical field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

Must be a motivated team player with a strong sense of dedication and a willingness to support team goals.

Ability to demonstrate a high level of commitment, flexibility to travel on short notice (up to 10%), and the ability to perform under tight deadlines.

Strong organizational and communication skills are essential to keep the team informed of project timelines and progress.
