Job Description

We are seeking an experienced construction estimator to support multifamily and commercial projects in Bethesda, MD. The role requires calculating quantity take-offs, estimating costs, and conceptual budgets for construction projects. You will be responsible for researching and forecasting material, labor, and equipment pricing, as well as gathering data to support market conditions including construction economics, trends, current projects, contractor availability, and skill sets.

Responsibilities

  • Report to Director of PreConstruction.
  • Calculate quantity take-offs and estimate costs and conceptual budgets.
  • Research and forecast material, labor, and equipment pricing.
  • Gather and analyze market data including construction economics and trends.
  • Utilize specific cost estimating software programs.
  • Create scopes of work and bid packages for multiple trades.
Essential Skills
  • 5-8 years of experience within construction either as an estimator or project manager.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading.
  • Experience with commercial construction and estimating software.
  • Pricing and bid solicitation knowledge.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience within commercial interiors, renovations, multifamily, and/or ground-up projects.
  • Ability to read drawings and interpret specifications.
  • Knowledge of the DMV market.
Work Environment

This position is 100% onsite at the Bethesda office. The company is 100% employee-owned and has a strong culture and family feel. The work environment includes large general contractors with multiple locations across the East Coast, offering automatic work from multiple corporate clients.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $72.11/hr.
