ELS is hiring for the position of Maintenance Supervisor in Margate, Florida.

What youll do:

The primary responsibilities include the hands-on maintenance of the community, including overall inspection, repair, and general maintenance of model homes and other interior/exterior areas. This position is also responsible for supervising the general maintenance staff by scheduling, delegating, and directing the work. Works as a team participant along with the maintenance staff to ensure the Community meets the quality standards set by the Company.

Your job will include:

  • Participates in the performance of all duties normally associated with a supervisory role including but not limited to interviewing, training, performance reviews, disciplinary actions.

  • Working within the approved budget, makes recommendations with regard to allocation of funds for maintenance department.

  • Ensures all maintenance staff is following safe work practices including but not limited to ensuring all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided to and utilized by staff.

  • Ensures that maintenance staff is performing to ELS standards and that service requests are handled in a prompt, courteous and efficient manner.

  • Ensures all maintenance staff are complying with all policies and procedures including but not limited to Timekeeping polices/procedures and ensuring required meal periods and rest breaks are scheduled and provided to all staff.

  • In conjunction with the property manager, ensures that maintenance staff does not perform high risk task that should be considered for outsourcing to third party vendors; for example, large tree trimming projects,

  • Review and delegate work orders in a timely manner ensuring that all request are completed accurately.

  • Perform various preventative maintenance functions and record findings in a maintenance log, either through delegation or directly handling required tasks.

  • Monitors maintenance and up-keep of all mechanical equipment on the community including, but not limited to, water heaters and HVAC units in common buildings, lawn mowers, weed eaters, etc.

  • Conduct regular property inspections.

  • Communicate regularly and professionally with management and staff.

  • Responds to concerns of the guests in a respectful and courteous manner, ensuring that all required follow-up or maintenance tasks are completed within Company guidelines.

  • Attend and participate in training programs as requested.

  • Help monitor capital improvement projects.

  • Assist management with special maintenance projects.

  • Perform on-call emergency services as required.

  • Represent the community in a professional manner.

Experience & skills you bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 3+ years of direct technical work experience in applicable areas, including plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, etc.

  • Previous supervisory experience.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work with heavy equipment.

  • Valid drivers license, good driving record and current auto insurance.

  • Willing to be on call for emergencies that arise after hours .
