SUMMARY
Mortenson is currently seeking an Assistant MEP Project Manager that will be responsible for providing analysis, management, and resolution for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) field coordination issues with project team members and participants.
Perform cost control and financial management
- Work with Preconstruction on project estimate and schedule
- Coordinate scopes of work
- Review and compile pay applications, change requests, and other project financial documentation
Partner with the Project Manager or Construction Executive
- Draft client proposals
- Contract administration and management
- Award subcontracts
Provide direction to the project team for safe and timely project completion
- Act as liaison for project engineers, mentor and coach others
- Provide job assignments and manage career development
- Direct responsibilities and guide Field Engineer(s) and Project Engineer(s)
Manage subcontractors and suppliers for the project
- Oversee budget for and make recommendations for subcontractors and trade partners
- Lead project buyout with subcontractors and trade partners
- Facilitate and lead meetings between subcontractors related to project coordination
- Lead and direct the 3-D coordination process to resolve all conflicts prior to installation
- Direct and manage the commissioning process on the project inclusive of the start up plan, COT, commissioning schedule, and functional testing
- Lead all activities required in the project closeout inclusive of operations and maintenance manuals, model turn over, and training
Other duties as assigned, including:
- Perform on-site Project Manager duties on small scope projects
- Implement a quality plan that ensures the customers specified performance criteria in design and construction
Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performance
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES- Shown ability to assist with all responsibilities for complex projects
- Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks
- Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
- Microsoft Office, project and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level
- Shown positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
- Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
- Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback
- Ability to travel up to 100%

- Bachelors degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural, Mechanical, and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent field experience
- Minimum five years construction experience, preferably experience with a Mechanical or Electrical Contractor
- Current drivers license

The base pay range for this role is $99,500-134,300 (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR 10%, Washington, D.C. 12.5%).
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individuals knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortensons incentive plan.
