Farm Laborer -- Weekly Pay -- Start ASAP! Support seed production plants focusing primarily on corn and soy across various growing regions. Work involves a blend of parent testing and innovation process improvements to enhance seed production practices. Responsibilities Assist with planting, staking, weeding, certifications, and scouting. Take notes on growth stages of corn, focusing on traits like tassel size, silk, and pollen shed timings. Conduct process improvements by implementing new technology or equipment to enhance production yields. Collect data and maintain research plots using iPads for data collection. Work outdoors in various weather conditions for tasks like row staking, stand counts, and hand harvesting. Participate in research studies such as inbred nitrogen studies and plant growth regulator trials. Operate medium-sized farm equipment and obtain a pesticide license if required. Travel to offsite locations and work independently on assigned field sections. Essential Skills 6+ months of outdoor work experience. 6+ months of manual labor experience in farming, construction, or landscaping Work Environment Work at a farm site with travel to offsite locations using company vehicles. The role involves outdoor work in various weather conditions with hours typically from 7am to 4pm, Monday through Friday. Dress code includes steel-toed boots, jeans, and outdoor layers as needed. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
