The Estimator works with blueprints to prepare a complete list of all job costs. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eEssential Job Functions\u003c/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cul\u003e\u003cli\u003eAnalyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.\u003c/li\u003e\u003cli\u003eAssess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.\u003c/li\u003e\u003cli\u003eConsult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.\u003c/li\u003e\u003cli\u003eConfer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.\u003c/li\u003e\u003cli\u003ePrepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.\u003c/li\u003e\u003cli\u003eWork with design\u003c/li\u003e\u003cli\u003ePrepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.\u003c/li\u003e\u003cli\u003eRe material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.\u003c/li\u003e\u003cli\u003ePrepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.\u003c/li\u003e\u003cli\u003ePrepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.\u003c/li\u003e\u003cli\u003eSet up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.\u003c/li\u003e\u003cli\u003ePrepare and maintain a directory of suppliers\u003c/li\u003e\u003c/ul\u003e\u003cul\u003e\u003cli\u003eOther duties, as needed\u003c/li\u003e\u003c/ul\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eRequired Skills and Experience\u003c/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cul\u003e\u003cli\u003eMinimum 5-7 years of experience in construction/ plumbing estimation.\u003c/li\u003e\u003cli\u003eStrong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.\u003c/li\u003e\u003cli\u003eIn-depth knowledge of construction industry standards, codes, and regulations.\u003c/li\u003e\u003cli\u003eWillingness to travel to project sites and client meetings as required.\u003c/li\u003e\u003c/ul\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eWorking Conditions\u003c/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eEnvironment \u003cbr\u003e\u003cul\u003e\u003cli\u003eOffice environment with occasional interruptions \u003c/li\u003e\u003cli\u003eThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderate \u003c/li\u003e\u003cli\u003eEvening and/or early morning, and/or weekend and holiday hours periodically \u003c/li\u003e\u003cli\u003eAbility to work remote with management approval\u003c/li\u003e\u003c/ul\u003e\u003cbr\u003ePhysical Abilities\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
