Job Description

  • Initiate project objectives by studying design plans, engineering drawings, and reviewing specifications and requirements.

  • Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.

  • Initiate mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs, applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials; study customer requirements, research and test manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.

  • Confirm system, part and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods, testing properties; collect, analyze, and summarize information trends.

  • Develop manufacturing process and assure system and product quality by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components; design testing methods; test finished product and systems capabilities; confirm fabrication, assembly and installation processes.

  • Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests.

  • Maintain systems and product database by collecting, analyzing, summarizing, and entering all such data.

  • Knowledge of UL, ISO 9001/2000 standards

  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Perform any other job duties as may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent

  • Minimum of ten years of broad-based manufacturing experience.

  • Effective communicative and writing skills

  • PC computer operational skills

  • 3D modeling software experience (Solidworks preferred)

  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs.

  • Mechanical Design and Engineering Expertise: Strong Foundation: Deep understanding of mechanical principles, kinematics, and structural analysis.

  • Electromechanical and thermodynamics experience is a plus.

  • CAD Proficiency: Advanced skills in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) for modeling, assembly, drafting; FEA experience is a plus.

  • Materials Science: Knowledge of various materials like steel, aluminum, plastics, and their applications in product design, focusing on suitability and aesthetics.

  • Manufacturing Processes: Familiarity with diverse manufacturing techniques such as metal fabrication, injection molding, and assembly processes, to ensure designs are cost-effective and manufacturable.

  • Innovative Design Thinking and Problem-Solving: Creative Approach: Ability to generate novel and practical solutions for complex design challenges, focusing on ease of installation, improved durability, and aesthetic appeal.

  • User-Centric Physical Design: Understanding of ergonomics and user interaction with physical products like kiosks and mounts to ensure intuitive use, safety, and visual appeal.

  • Prototyping and Testing: Experience in developing and validating prototypes, conducting design verification testing, and implementing design changes based on test results.

  • Collaboration and Leadership Potential: Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong ability to work effectively with product management, manufacturing, QA, and other disciplines.

  • Project Leadership: Demonstrates initiative and potential to lead design projects, mentor junior engineers, and drive technical decision-making within a team.

  • Adaptability: A willingness to learn new technologies and apply creative problem-solving from other industries to the AV accessories space.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. without assistance. Anything above 30 lbs. requires a team lift.

  • Must be able to reach above shoulder level, waist level and below waist

  • Must be able to use a pallet jack, lift equipment and weight plates with a chain hoist/gantry crane (Certified through us).

  • Must be able to use hand tools; cordless drill/driver and pneumatic rivet gun.

  • Must be able to work in non-dust/non-climate-controlled areas.

  • Must be able to wear required safety PPE.
