KPMG is currently seeking a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Engineer to join our Digital Nexus technology organization. This is a hybrid work opportunity.Responsibilities:
Work closely with internal Virtualization Operations and Engineering teams to gather requirements and build/deploy appropriate tool; provide technical leadership in the development, integration, and testing of the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, supporting multiple geographic locations, network enclaves, and virtual desktop pools
Offer input on the overall technology plan for the organization, ensuring specific technologies integrate effectively with other aspects of the network security technical infrastructure; collaborate and work effectively with different technology teams and vendors delivering complete networking solutions
Design, upgrade, test, and modify the VDI environment based on capacity and utilization requirements; troubleshoot and correct detected or reported system and network faults or outages; maintain deep technical and business knowledge of current industry directions and trends; work to deliver technology and products in the roadmap on schedule, and with the highest quality
Give expert advice and guidance to carry out plans and procedures; ensure product development process adherence, performance and budget targets are met; deliver last tier support for operations and support teams, including root cause analysis and preventative analysis
Build configuration management, service provisioning, inventory management, resource management, process automation, visibility, and self-service tools; provide training and guidance to other members of the Virtualization Operations and Engineering teamsQualifications:
Minimum seven years of recent experience in virtualization design and engineering while managing and supporting large scale projects
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred
Capable of designing new VDI environments and supporting technology solutions; must have experience with cloud hosted VDI solutions
Skills should include Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix DaaS, Citrix NetScaler / ADC / VPX, Citrix Gateway Service, Citrix App Layering, Citrix XenServer, VMWare ESXi, good understanding of multi-site non-persistent and persistent VDI environments, strong working knowledge of networking equipment (switches, firewalls, proxy servers)
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and systems management
Ability to create architectural and technical documentation for deployed solutions and knowledge transfer; Excellent troubleshooting skills
