Manufacturing Machine Operator

Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, or Wednesday through Saturday, 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM

General Summary of Position

The Manufacturing Machine Operator will safely control various machines and equipment involved in production.

Essential (Core Competencies) Duties

Operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include roll-former, grinder, band saw, and similar equipment.

Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.

Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications.

Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.

Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.

Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.

Attends and/or completes welder and safety training (through KLOVER Learning Management System) as required by management.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED.

Previous experience with operating a roll-former in a manufacturing environment

Previous experience moving heavy materials around an active job site or manufacturing shop

Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.

Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs (blueprints), shop drawings, and other pertinent documentation.

Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.

Preferred Education and Experience:

2+ years' experience with operating a roll-former in a manufacturing environment

Work Environment

The work environment will consist mainly of heavy work in a manufacturing environment. There may be some exposure to seasonal humidity and extreme heat over 85 degrees, excessive noise, and some vibration associated with the use of tools and equipment. Some hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, caustic chemical, and slippery and uneven walking surfaces exist.

Physical Requirements Continued

Due to the physical nature of the position, employee must have full dexterity of their hands and arms.

Employee must be able to see objects close and far away

At times, multiple sounds can be heard as employee is working on job, employee must have the ability to focus on the sound in particular that is associated with the task they are completing.

Employees with any sort of hearing impairment would not be considered fit for duty to perform this position.

Due to the safety sensitive nature of the position, at all times, employee must be fit for duty and not report to work under the influence of a mind altering or performance altering substance. At no time, should employee be found to be possessing or using a mind or performance altering substance while performing any Company task.
