B+T Group is searching for a Fiber Construction Project Manager located in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area. The Fiber Construction Project Manager is responsible for managing wireless and fiber infrastructure projects from bidding through closeout, ensuring that customer expectations, budgets, and schedules are met. This role coordinates internal teams and subcontractors, provides clear direction, and maintains strong client communication throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires extensive travel 75% or more to support field operations and client needs.
Essential Functions (Key Responsibilities):
Project Management
- Oversee fiber and wireless deployment projects, including Small Cell, CRAN, A&E Engineering, and Construction Management.
- Plan and manage deadlines, project scopes, and resources to deliver on budget and schedule.
- Assign and support internal and subcontracted teams across multiple projects.
- Escalate and expedite issues as needed to achieve cost, quality, and delivery goals.
Project Planning & Support
- Coordinate pre-construction planning, utility meetings, permitting, and kickoff activities.
- Use project management tools to build actionable plans and track progress.
- Monitor work quality, deliverables, and ensure accurate, timely closeouts.
Customer Interfacing
- Maintain consistent communication with customers, ensuring scope, schedule, and expectations are aligned.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships to support client satisfaction and future work.
Logistics & Field Operations
- Review construction drawings, identify potential conflicts, and assign crews accordingly.
- Attend utility coordination meetings and construction progress check-ins.
Estimating & Permitting
- Conduct site walks, develop cost estimates, and prepare accurate project quotes.
- Secure necessary permits, including ROW access and pole attachment approvals.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and distribute internal and external reports related to project performance and completion.
- Track budgets, schedule, and financial performance, reporting results to clients and leadership.
Perform related responsibilities as required or assigned.
RequirementsKnowledge/Skill/Ability
Technical Knowledge Proven knowledge of Communications construction and project management principles and practices
Attention to Detail Ability to organize, identify issues, and correct critical project information
Communication Skills Proven oral and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare and deliver concise, understandable instructions and reports
Computer Skills Proficiency in the use of personal computer software, including spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation software
Logistical Ability Proven ability to plan, schedule, and track multiple projects
Equivalent Education/Experience
Associates degree, GC license or equivalent training in project management, construction management, or related field
OSHA 30 Certification
First Aid/CPR Certification
At least 6 years of progressively responsible related experience in the construction industry
OSP, fiber construction experience preferred
