Seasonal Winter Laborer

The purpose of this position is to ensure the safety and accessibility of public or private road and walkways during inclement weather. Operate snowplows, salt spreaders, and other winter maintenance equipment.
Shovel snow and apply salt or sand to sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and entryways.
Respond to snow and ice events as needed, including during nights, weekends, and holidays.
Perform routine maintenance on vehicle and equipment.
Assist with general groundskeeping and facility maintenance as assigned.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding work assignments and conditions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to following oral and written instructions
Working knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and equipment commonly used in public works activities
Knowledge of the rules of safe operation of equipment and vehicles and the precautions to be taken to prevent accidents
Knowledge of proper landscape, tree care and pruning

High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid Drivers License required, CDL (Commercial Drivers License) preferred or may be required depending on equipment used.
Experience operation snow remove equipment is preferred.
Physical ability and fitness to be able to perform the duties of the position
