We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Master Transmission Builder to join our team. The ideal candidate has advanced knowledge of automatic transmission systems, strong mechanical aptitude, and a proven track record of building, remanufacturing, and troubleshooting transmissions. This role is critical in ensuring quality, reliability, and performance in all units built.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Disassemble, inspect, and diagnose automatic transmissions for wear, failure, and remanufacturing feasibility.
- Remanufacture transmissions to OEM or enhanced specifications using proper techniques, tools, and calibrated equipment.
- Measure tolerances, endplay, and clearances using micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators to ensure precise fit and function.
- Install bushings, bearings, seals, gaskets, and valve body components accurately.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safety-compliant work area.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and testing teams on root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
- Interpret and apply technical data.
- Perform final quality checks and functional testing prior to shipping or vehicle installation.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
- Minimum 7–10 years experience building and/or remanufacturing automotive transmissions.
- Extensive knowledge of common OEM platforms (e.g., Ford, GM, Chrysler, Honda, Toyota, Nissan).
- Proficient in using specialized tools and measurement devices.
- Familiarity with transmission dyno testing or end-of-line testing procedures is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a high-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASE Certification in Automatic Transmissions/Transaxles (A2) or similar.
- Experience in remanufacturing environments with lean manufacturing or 5S knowledge.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to think critically.
- Excellent communication and documentation habits.
