To perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial gas and refrigeration systems to ensure safe and efficient operation of facility equipment. This role supports production and utility operations by maintaining optimal performance of refrigeration and gas systems in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Essential Position Responsibilities
Maintain and repair industrial refrigeration systems including compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, valves, and control systems. Monitor and adjust system parameters to ensure efficient operation. Perform leak detection, system charging, and evacuation procedures. Maintain and repair gas systems including piping, regulators, and safety devices. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, including proper handling of refrigerants and gases. Document maintenance activities and maintain accurate records. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support operational goals. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training programs. Initiates and maintains all required records using Office, CMMS, or other software pertaining to maintenance, calibration, or safety checks. Accomplishes layout work for each project as needed. Read and understand flow diagrams. Meets safety requirements in accomplishing responsibilities of this position complying with all policies or regulations set forth by Simmons PSM programs or various government agencies concerning safety, environment, and any related items. Must be able to qualify as a member of the plant HAZMAT team. Consult with engineers/vendors as needed. In all duties, adheres to and carries out the requirements of the Process Safety Management (PSM) program. Initiates Management of Change activity when appropriate
Participates as a member of the team. Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and works with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.

Physical Activities: This position may require working in extreme temperatures ranging from 0 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit potentially wet or slippery environment while monitoring equipment regularly required to sit, stand, and walk 12-hour shifts, which may include overtime. Ability to climb stairs or fixed ladders. Requires bending, stooping, and kneeling to stand on feet for up to 12 hours per shift, which may include overtime occasionally. Must be able to work in cramped, enclosed, elevated, wet, and dirty areas with a noise level above 90 decibels. Enter and locate information on a computer. It visually verifies information, often in small print. Must be able to manually lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to pass a fit test, physical exam, and pulmonary function test (lung capacity), and successfully complete annual re-testing.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Specialty shoes, H2S monitor, ear plugs, Safety glasses, hard hat, APR, SCBA, HAZMAT suit and other PPE as required in appropriate environment.

Technical Experience: Industrial controls experience/skills. Knowledge of RS Logix 500 and 5000 as well as FactoryTalk is required. ABB knowledge is a plus. State Boilers license required.
Industry Experience : Preference for food manufacturing organization and/or gas manufacturing.
