General Foreman - Dry Utility Construction

PDI Construction is a 75-year old, Arizona based company specializing in dry utility construction. We work directly with electric utilities, general contractors and electrical contractors.

We are currently looking for an experienced Dry Utility General Foreman to manage all aspects of underground utility construction projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion while maintaining high safety and quality standards. This includes leading and supervising crews, coordinating resources, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Overseeing and managing all aspects of assigned utility projects, including dry utilities including electrical and communications systems.
Crew Leadership:
Leading and supervising a team of dry utility workers, assigning tasks, and ensuring work is completed efficiently and safely.
Safety Compliance:
Implementing and enforcing safety regulations and company policies to maintain a secure work environment.
Quality Control:
Ensuring that all work meets project specifications, quality standards, and local building codes.
Resource Management:
Coordinating the allocation of resources, including materials, equipment, and personnel, to meet project deadlines and budgets.
Communication:
Maintaining clear and effective communication with project managers, supervisors, subcontractors, and crew members.
Documentation:
Keeping accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked.
Problem Solving:
Identifying and resolving issues that arise during the project, including conflicts, delays, and material shortages.
Training and Development:
Training new team members on proper techniques, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
Equipment Operation:
Operating equipment such as excavators, skid steers, and other machinery as needed.
Blueprint Interpretation:
Reading and interpreting blueprints and construction drawings to guide construction activities.
Inspections:
Conducting regular inspections to ensure quality control and compliance with regulations.
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience: Significant experience as a foreman or supervisor in dry utility underground construction.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of workers.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of dry utility installation, maintenance, and repair procedures.
Safety Awareness: Thorough knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to enforce them.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues effectively.
Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
Equipment Operation: Proficiency in operating construction equipment.
Valid Driver's License: A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Bilingual (Spanish): May be a plus.
