BIM Manager

B.L. Harbert International is looking for a BIM Manager to work with the International Group in various locations overseas. The candidate will manage the process involving the generation and management of digital representations as well as how to extract and exchange these representations to assist in decision-making on the project site. The BIM Manager will also help direct the BIM/CAD Draftsman on the project.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute project specific BIM Plans/Procedures
  • Verify completed work and check dimensions, materials to be used, and quantities
  • Provide or insure regular QA/QC model review
  • Support engineering and construction in terms of dimensions, layout, quantity surveying, clash detection, etc.
  • Coordinate with Engineering to develop time sequence Model 4D and Maintenance Date 5D
  • Comply with Project Specific Deliverables
  • Collaborate with design team and construction team to identify goals and communicate procedural changes
  • Manage and oversee 3D BIM coordination meetings, preconstruction meetings, and submittal review meetings

Requirements:

  • Ability to relocate to the international project site for 1-2 years
  • 5-7 years of professional experience managing BIM on large projects
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Science/Technology, Construction Management or related
  • Proficiency in some or all of the following computer applications: Microsoft Office Suite, Navisworks Manage, Trimble Sketchup, Autodesk Revit, Bently AECOSim Building Designer

Physical Demands:

To perform the duties of this job, the employee must:

  • Have the ability to repetitively use hands to grasp, reach above and below with arms, and work overhead
  • Have the ability to stand, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, climb, bend, balance and twist for extended periods
  • Have the ability to frequently lift and/or push or pull up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or push or pull up to 75 pounds
  • Possess the manual dexterity to utilize and operate construction tools and/or construction equipment and machinery
  • Possess physical agility and mobility, to include safely maneuvering throughout the job site

Work Environment:

To perform the duties of this job, the employee

  • Must be able to work 60-hours/week, six days/week, 10 hours/day
  • May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration
  • Will have occasional exposure to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites including frequent loud noises
  • Must be comfortable with regular work near moving mechanical parts and outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt
