Job Description

Job Location: 980 Turnpike St., Canton, MA 02021 Email resumes to North American Renewables, Inc. at Responsibilities: Duties include the following: 1. Act as the electrical engineer of record on battery storage and ground mount solar facility projects; 2. Guide and review plan preparation by junior engineers for the electrical plan sets; 3. Perform and review SAM calculations, ampacity studies, short circuit studies, TCC, ground grid, and arc flash studies; 4. Review of client design standards and contract documents associated with the electrical engineering and construction of projects; 5. Review of development interconnection agreements and other associated project documentation to ensure constructability of the proposed system and providing assistance in generating associated RFIs to the client when appropriate; 6. Assists in developing, maintaining, and updating engineering design and documentation standards; provide technical guidance to others regarding the electrical engineering portion of solar electrical engineering and construction; 7. Review plan sets prepared by external electrical engineers for quality and presentation of information; 8. Assist the procurement team in the review of product quotes and respond to submittals from internal and external groups for projects as the EOR; 9. Review of development packages provided by clients for design issues, value engineering opportunities, and coordination of requirements; and 10. Provide assistance in the commissioning and project closeout to the construction team. Education and Experience Requirements: Employer requires candidate to have a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field and three (3) years of work experience as an electrical engineer working within the solar industry. Candidate must also have the following: (1) Demonstrated ability designing code-compliant photovoltaic (PV) and storage facilities in accordance with National Electrical Code (NEC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) guidelines gained through three (3) years of work experience; (2) Demonstrated knowledge of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Distributed Antenna System (DAS) design gained through three (3) years of work experience; (3) Demonstrated ability commissioning and testing electrical plans gained through three (3) years of work experience; and (4) Demonstrated ability performing power systems studies gained through three (3) years of work experience. Telecommuting is permitted, so long as the candidate lives in the Canton, MA area, as in-office work is required at least one day per week. Domestic travel required approximately 12 times per year to visit project sites. All years of experience may be gained concurrently.
