As a surveyor, you will be an integral part of the design team to produce construction documents and reports for civil site and infrastructure projects. This role involves working with a Senior Surveyor in developing efficient and accurate boundary and topographic surveys and construction stakeout services for project locations. In this role, you will be responsible for completing the field work associated with those tasks and assisting in processing the field data and drafting for document completion.

As a Team Member at Cushing Terrell, you will*…

  • Work under the direction of a licensed Senior Surveyor or Project Engineer.
  • Conduct field work required to complete boundary and topographic surveys and construction stakeout.
  • Plan layouts of small projects and coordinate with other departments.
  • Provide basic property research, including jurisdictional requirements for filing survey-related documents.
  • Prepare as-built plans using Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office.
  • Prepare survey calculations, technical memoranda, and reports.
  • Ability to travel to project sites both locally and out of state. May provided construction administration, including, but not limited to, onsite field observation.

*The majority of the time, a person in this role will be sitting in an office with limited physical requirements. This may require individuals to bend, stretch, twist, and reach.

Qualifications* and abilities you will bring to the table:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5-8 years job job-related experience.
  • Land Surveyor Intern certificate with the ability to obtain a Professional Land Surveyor license within 2 years.
  • Driver’s license and REAL-ID
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, ArcGIS, Bluebeam, Outlook, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong knowledge in the use of survey field equipment, including robotic total stations, laser scanners, and GNSS systems.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to determine precise location and measurements of points, elevations, lines, areas, and contours for construction, map making, land division, Land titles, and construction staking.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Your pay

The salary for this position is based on the location/s posted. If you are a candidate living outside of (this region/these regions), we still encourage you to apply as salary ranges may differ across states/cities/job markets.

  • Expected Range*: $24 to $33 an hour
  • The position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus

*The actual salary offered for the role will be determined based on various factors including but not limited to; years of experience, certifications, location, level of job-related knowledge, and other job-related factors (as permitted by law).
