As part of Amdocs' strategic partnership with AT&T, the Outside Plant (OSP) Project Manager supports critical network deployments across fiber and Ethernet infrastructure. You'll manage field operations, oversee engineering and design activities, and ensure technical excellence using AT&T's proprietary systems and standards.
What will your job look like?
- Oversee OSP engineering and design projects from initiation through closeout.
- Align deliverables with Amdocs and AT&T stakeholders through collaborative project management.
- Leverage AT&T systems including:
- ARAMIS (workflow and job tracking)
- Waldo (design validation)
- IWM (Integrated Work Management for scheduling/dispatch)
- MIC (Material Inventory Control)
- IQ CAD Design
- Ensure data integrity across systems and maintain complete project documentation.
- Lead vendor coordination, permitting, material sourcing, and compliance with AT&T SOPs.
- Monitor KPIs, anticipate risks, and implement mitigation strategies using Amdocs PMO tools.
- Familiarity with site walk requirements to evaluate good engineering judgement, constructability, safety, permitting, and environmental readiness.
- Review fiber engineering designs, applying engineering judgment to optimize layouts, validate feasibility, and enforce standards.
- Guide continuous improvements and process enhancements across engineering workflows.
- Work as a trusted advisor to customers in their fiber expansion programs.
- Engage with senior customer leaders and technical stakeholders.
- Provide best practice guidance to internal and external customers.
- Work in conjunction with project teams (Project Managers, Product Specialists, and other Solution Architects, etc.) to manage and deliver client expectations.
- Provide recommendations on cost, engineering efficiency and design optimization.
- Provide appropriate collaboration, direction and feedback to team members.
- Identify, document, and drive resolution for any program issues.
- Document business process flows and functional business requirements.
All you need is...
- Minimum 5 years of telecommunications, focusing on fiber optics, OSP construction, and network architecture. Added plus, if you have prior OSP construction experience, including trenching, boring, aerial builds, and splicing.
- Expertise in FTTX design and deployment (GPON, Aerial, Buried and Underground applications).
- Working knowledge of AT&T Switched Ethernet (ASE) service planning, engineering and design.
- Strong engineering judgment in reviewing fiber engineering designs for constructability, compliance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Experience conducting site walks: identifying construction challenges, confirming access, and assessing design viability.
- Depth of knowledge in OSP fielding requirements, including:
- CAD interpretation and redlining
- Pole/conduit verification and splice layout assessment
- GPS/mapping data collection
- Identification of build obstacles
- Proficiency in AT&T systems: IQ, ARAMIS, Waldo, IWM, MIC
- Proficiency with GIS mapping, AutoCAD, and handling KMZ files for design validation
- Skilled in project documentation, compliance reporting, and cross-team coordination.
- PMP or Agile certification preferred.
- Experience managing telecom deployments across urban, suburban, and rural areas with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Proven track record managing large-scale fiber deployment projects, capital budgets, and vendor relationships.
- Skilled in construction permitting, ROW acquisition, and compliance across jurisdictions.
- Experience overseeing QA/QC workflows, risk mitigation plans, and detailed progress reporting.
- Preferred Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's Degree - Preferred in Engineering, Telecommunications, or Construction Management
- PMP Certification
- BICSI OSP
