Job Summary:

The Project Enigneer provides comprehensive support to our Project Management team, Operations Management, and field personnel. This person is responsible for the coordination, planning, scheduling, execution and completion of all assigned retrofit, service, new construction and design-build projects. This person will coordinate materials, equipment, subcontractors, permits and other items necessary for a successful project, ensuring that specifications are being followed and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. This role will also work with the project team on billing, collecting and forecasting. They will ensure we are compliant with safety policies. This role focuses on project coordination, data management, client communication support and administrative functions that ensure smooth project execution. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills as well as attention to detail in a dynamic environment. Project Engineer Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Pre-project coordination
  • Partner with Project Management team, Operations Management, and field personnel to execute project goals, including project overviews, specificiation requirements, contract details and scheduling
  • Assist with project budgeting and forecasting
  • Assist with project billing and collections
  • Collaborates with Sales and the Operations department for guidance and support, including technical direction.
  • Communicates project related information to customers and vendors regularly.
  • Documents contractual and technical requirements, assists in the development and implementation of project plans and facilitates efficient execution of work scope.
  • Collects, compiles, scans, and analyzes project and operations documents; maintain project folders.
  • Assist with project reporting as needed.
  • Attend regular work-in-progress meetings.
  • Assist with coordination of OCIP/CCIP requirements.
  • Manages multiple projects while meeting or exceeding stated deadlines and bid estimates.
  • Pre-plan and coordinate material and equipment purchases and deliveries and completion of required inspections.
  • Work cross functionally with other departments including purchasing, field labor, accounts payable, accounts receivable, etc.
  • Understands contracts, prepares change orders and proposals for customers.
  • Visit job sites to monitor progress and resolve problems.
  • Meet with inspectors at job sites for field inspections.
  • Protects the company by identifying and avoiding risk.
  • Documents job progress, changes, delays submittal’s, RFI’s etc.
  • Responsible for tracking the financial position of the project including billings, change orders and managing costs.
  • Promote safety-first culture.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in related field, or field experience in HVAC business preferred.
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, kneel, and move around construction sites for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb ladders, scaffoldings, and stairs as needed.
  • Capable of working in various environmental conditions such as heat, dust, noise, etc. that are typical of a construction site.
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
  • Ability to wear PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, boots, etc.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Project and Excel or equal.
  • Demonstrates excellent attention to detail.
  • Must be self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the project.
  • Support the Project team and provide detailed information to ensure projects are executed timely, accurately, and on budget.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record and reliable transportation.
