Electrical Engineer Hardware & Firmware Development

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team. This role focuses on the design and development of hardware and firmware solutions for microprocessor-based systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with PLCs, PCB design using Altium Designer, and system integration. You will work independently while collaborating with a small, cross-functional team to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop hardware systems and embedded firmware for microprocessor-based devices.
  • Create and maintain PCB layouts using Altium Designer.
  • Integrate and debug systems involving PLCs, sensors, and actuators.
  • Collaborate with contractors, designers, and administrative staff to meet project goals.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support product testing, validation, and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in medical device development or regulated consumer electronics.
  • Familiarity with standards such as ISO 13485, ISO 9001, or IEC 62304.
  • Proficiency with prototyping platforms like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or similar.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git version control, and automated testing frameworks.
Project Highlight:

You will contribute to the development of a PLC-controlled conveyor system designed to disinfect wheelchairs. The system automates the process: a wheelchair rolls into a sealed box, undergoes disinfection, and exits via the conveyor. While the project is not highly complex, it requires precision and reliability.

Work Environment:
  • Team: 2 contractors, 2 designers, 1 admin.
  • Independent work style with flexible collaboration.
  • Flexible work hours and unlimited PTO.
Why Join Us?
  • Competitive benefits package.
  • Flexible scheduling and work-life balance.
