CNC Lathe Operator**

**Job Description**

Operate CNC lathes while following instructions on a job traveler for different operations on various parts and jobs for the aerospace and defense industries. Specific experience in operating Mazaks, Okumas, or Doosan machines is highly preferred. Interpret and understand drawings and schematics to produce the highest quality parts with incredibly tight tolerances. Measure parts and make offsets to machine or parts as needed to achieve perfect parts. Complete necessary First Article Inspections and 'In-Process' checks by recording measured dimensions as required. Communicate with management and quality control about issues or problems with parts or equipment. Maintain equipment and work area to standard.

**Responsibilities**

+ Operate CNC lathes for various aerospace and defense industry parts.

+ Interpret and understand technical drawings and schematics.

+ Measure parts and make necessary machine offsets to ensure precision.

+ Perform First Article Inspections and 'In-Process' checks.

+ Communicate with management and quality control regarding part or equipment issues.

+ Maintain equipment and work area to standard.

**Essential Skills**

+ CNC Lathe Operating experience.

+ Ability to read blueprints.

+ Great attention to detail.

+ Good computer and mathematical skills.

+ Proficient in using measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

+ High School Diploma or equivalent.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Experience with Mazaks, Okumas, or Doosan machines is highly preferred.

+ Experience with CNC grinding and set-up is a plus.

+ Familiarity with CMM is beneficial.

**Work Environment**

Work in a small job shop environment with roughly 12 total employees. Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere where the majority of employees are experienced and understand the tasks at hand. The shop is clean but has a vintage charm. The shift is Monday to Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with overtime as needed.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
