Description
Perform routine maintenance, rebuild, and repair work on all equipment in the facility to support production needs. Must display a high skill level in one or more of the following electrical/electronics, pneumatics, and hydraulic systems, millwright; with the ability to work with and train others. A successful Mechanic will self-start and take initiative without direction.
Under limited supervision and with minimal technical guidance, keeps plant machinery and mechanical equipment in good repair. Examines machines to diagnose trouble, dismantles machines, replaces defective parts, reassembles machines, and makes necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation. Incumbents at this level perform intermediate troubleshooting, work with limited technical guidance and may provide work training to less experienced maintenance staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
This job includes but is not limited to the following:
Have basic knowledge of arc and MIG welding, and have basic welding skills at the end or probationary period.
Have basic knowledge of air and hydraulic systems and agree to further training if necessary.
Have Basic PLC and Ladder Logic knowledge.
Must have the ability to learn or understand, to troubleshoot, repair and maintain all plant equipment.
Must have ability to learn to repair and rebuild Die Cast Machines.
Must have ability to learn to repair and troubleshoot all manufactures of CNC Equipment.
Must have ability to repair Paint Line related equipment and ovens.
Understand basic Industrial electricity, 480 volt systems
Obtain a complete set of tools per tool list.
Complete Lock Out Tag Out training.
Complete Forklift training and operate forklift in safe manner.
Must be able to perform moderately heavy lifting.
Work in a safe manner, so not to endanger self or co-workers. Report unsafe conditions.
Wear required personal protective equipment.
Participate in training to upgrade skills as necessary, to move forward with changing technology.
Perform other associated duties, functions or work as may be needed or assigned to continue the productive operation of the company.
Must pass entry level test.
Must follow all safety rules and policies as set forth by OSHA guidelines and Pace Industries policies and procedures as outlined in the employee manual.
MUST BE WILLING TO BE TRAINED.
Refusal of training can and may result in disqualification and/or disciplinary action.
Position Requirements
Entry level test required. Must be able to read and understand written directives. The predominate form of instructions are written, visual and verbal. Blueprint and Schematic reading required. Forklift certification required. Must have means of communication for callouts. Able to lift 50 pounds.
