Mortenson is seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager II to join our Advanced Manufacturing Group and lead projects with professionalism, flexibility, and resourcefulness in a dynamic environment. This role involves managing project quality, timeliness, and safety, mentoring the project team, and developing strong customer relationships through excellent service and communication skills.

This is the perfect opportunity for those experienced project managers, who enjoy leading from the front, managing stakeholder groups across all levels, and coaching team members. If you are inventive, dedicated and lead with a high level of integrity and humility this is the right role for you.

Travel: This is a 100% travel position, and locations may vary based on the project. Mortenson hires for a career and not a project. When your project is complete, you will be assigned to another project.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the overall financial health of projects, including financial projections, cost codes, invoices, and monthly owner billings
  • Oversee budget and selection of trade partners and suppliers, handle billings and contract management, and manage the 3-D coordination and commissioning processes
  • Lead project closeout activities, including operations and maintenance manuals, model turnover, and training
  • Manage Assistant Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s), providing job assignments, career development, and performance feedback
  • Function as the main point of contact with the owner and on-site representative, resolving site concerns and building positive relationships
  • Manage change orders, determining when to submit and obtaining customer/architect approval
  • Maintain schedule and budget until project completion, and provide high-level management of quality, risk, safety, and compliance
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels, and lead team members by example, offering effective coaching and feedback

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field experience
  • Minimum seven years of construction management experience, preferably with a Mechanical or Electrical Contractor
  • Current drivers license
  • Ability to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for complex projects
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple project tasks
  • Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills
  • Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skills
  • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
  • Active listening skills and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback
  • Ability to travel up to 100%

The base pay range for this role is $128,300 MIN - $192,500 MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR 10%, Washington, D.C. 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individuals knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortensons incentive plan.
