CAD Technician Location: Central Falls, RI Job Type: Full-time Job Description: Our client is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Full-Time CAD Technician to join their team in Central Falls, RI. The ideal candidate will be proficient in both SolidWorks and AutoCAD, with strong technical drawing capabilities and familiarity with engineering standards. You'll also use Microsoft Office tools to support documentation, reporting, and communication across project teams Responsibilities: Create and revise 3D models, assemblies, and detailed part drawings using SolidWorks. Develop clear and accurate 2D drawings and layouts using AutoCAD. Collaborate with engineers and project managers to interpret technical concepts and translate them into precise documentation. Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical drawing packages. Use Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for documentation, reporting, and communication. Ensure compliance with internal drafting standards and applicable industry codes (e.g., GD&T, ISO, ASME). Maintain proper version control and file organization for all CAD-related documents. Support manufacturing and quality teams with technical documentation and design updates. Requirements: Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SketchUp, SolidWorks, or similar tools. Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and practices. Knowledge of sheet metal, machining, injection molding process and weldment. Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. Prior experience in drafting or design is preferred but not mandatory; recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Familiarity with 2D animation techniques is a plus.
