Position Summary:
The Mobilization Supervisor is responsible for , but not limited to leading a team of drivers, and escorts to ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service and equipment and the seamless integration between internal and external customers and the heavy haul business unit.

Responsibilities- The Mobilization Supervisor ensures drivers and equipment are performing as necessary to provide ontime service and drives continued innovation.
- Matches customer requirements with fleet capabilities and dispatches the appropriate truck, trailer,
driver, and escorts to complete the move. - Ensures drivers, escorts and equipment are performing as necessary to provide on-time service.
- Develops a sense of trust and integrity with the customer.
- Ensures all fleet maintenance programs are current on tractors and trailers.
- Maximizes revenue per tractor through appropriate equipment utilization.
- Documents and communicates all service-related issues.
- Receives incoming calls from internal and external customers to schedule equipment moves.
- Seeks appropriate guidance from business unit manager on matters that could cause a negative
financial impact. - Resolves inquiries and urgent requests in a professional and efficient manner, providing high quality
customer service and communication. - Schedules equipment moves to meet internal and external customer demand.
- Tracks equipment movements to and from jobsites or customer locations.
- Communicates with drivers and escorts providing assignment details and directions.
- Updates dispatch board in real time to avoid mistakes.
- Documents equipment moves accurately on move sheets for integrity and reliability of customer billings.
- Assists business unit manager with time sensitive quotes. Any deviations from established price lists
should be discussed with Mobilization Manager. - Distributes and assigns fuel cards and access cards to drivers and escorts.
- Ensures every move complies with State and Federal Department of Transportation guidelines and that
each driver is compliant with all rules and regulations. - Ensures drivers have necessary permits for each move as required.
- Ensures weights and dimensions for the loads are correct to avoid any problems that will delay the load
in any way or cause the company to be fined. - Prepares and plans for EFS (Electronic Funds Source) as much as possible.
- Maintains a safe work environment and ensures all established safety rules, procedures, policies,
OSHA, MSHA and DOT regulations are followed. - Conducts routine safety meetings to instruct Drivers and Escort Drivers as to what safety guidelines
they should follow and what questions or concerns they have. - Distributes and ensures drivers and escorts wear proper PPE.
- Performs road tests with each company CDL driver every six months.
- Writes reviews of these tests and recommends any corrective or preventative action to the business unit
manager - Collects and audits driver logs on a weekly basis. Understands FMCSR 60/7 and 70/8 guidelines.
Makes sure the company is in full compliance with these laws pertaining to all CDL drivers. - Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Plans, organizes, and supervises the work of the CDL drivers and escorts to ensure the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational expectations and requirements.
Participates in new hire selection .
Administers annual performance process for CDL drivers and escorts.
Participates in coaching and counseling meetings.
Responsible for employee training and development within the department.
Responsible for scheduling work hours and time off.
Coordinates with drivers on physicals and random drug screens as well as CDL renewal deadlines based on Safety Department tracking and correspondence.
Qualifications
- Proficiency with all necessary technological tools, including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint ,
and Outlook with the ability to use other software, as necessary. - Experience with ERP systems. Vista Viewpoint preferred.
- Interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills required.
- Ability to exchange information effectively and tactfully when dealing with others and handling sensitive
issues. - Knowledge of logistics tractor routing
- Strong analytical, problem solving, strategic and innovative thinking skills.
- Extreme patience in dealing with volatile situations; flawless follow-up procedures.
- Comprehensive knowledge of DOT regulations impacting daily operations.
- Must have strong time management and planning skills to prioritize resources, and people.
- Ability to produce routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions
and decimals. - Ability to work in high production environment and respond quickly/effectively under pressure and
deadlines
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum High school education or G.E.D.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising heavy haul transportation operations.
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in logistics or business preferred.
